A cannabis testing company in California have recently developed a comprehensive hemp testing panel. SC Labs (ISO-accredited), tests for pesticides, heavy metals, microbiology, mycotoxins, residual solvents and water activity.
The government has been slow in developing regulations in this area. That is to say, standardized testing has become important for the industry and long over-due.
In theory, SC Labs’ bundled quality assurance (QA) test package could set the new standard of regulatory compliance. Meanwhile, the federal government requires pre-harvest testing for THC levels. Many states now also require safety tests.
In short, there are many CBD products of a dubious nature being sold on the market. Therefore a standardized test can help regulate the sales of illegitimate products to consumers in the future.
